Monica M. Medina (M.M.M.) is 27, born and raised in Illinois where she completed her undergraduate in the field of Psychology at Northern Illinois University in 2014. A field she was driven to pursue after her 45 year old mother’s life was suddenly taken in May 2009 trying to flee from a life of domestic violence.
Venturing off into the field, M.M.M. eagerly and intentionally left winter behind forever and moved to the West Coast of Florida. She is a staff writer for Venice Gulf Coast Living Magazine and no longer believes in living more than 15 minutes away from the ocean.
After nine years of drawn out court proceedings enforced by her stepfather’s manipulation, M.M.M, and family finally had their day in court on August 8th, 2017.
In her debut book, The Third Return, she captures, with explicit detail, what a lifetime of violence for a victim and children involves and how witnessing abuse can have lasting effects. Her story will dive into subjects such as the emotional conflict of love and hate for an abuser, the struggle to keep a relationship between the abuser and the victim, finding strength after grief, overcoming the unexpected, finding peace and growing from deep scars.
She hopes to shine a new light on the issue of domestic violence by allowing women to see their situation from the eyes of a child. She believes that every life is beautiful and reminds every soul…
You are a Beautiful Life.
